Hello everyone!
This past month, the theme was quality of life improvements to library management. Let's take a look!
Add quantities to quote parts on library icons
When creating or editing icons you have already been able to add parts to the icon that will be quoted when the icon is dragged and dropped into a diagram. However, there could only be one of each part. Now you can provide a quantity for each so if you need to bundle multiple of a single part you can!
Drag and drop icons between libraries
Manage your libraries with ease with drag and drop organization. No longer do you need to copy an icon to move it to a new library. Just drag and drop!
💡 TIP: Did you know that a D3M organization can have as many icon libraries as they'd like? Use them to better organize your icons and bundles based on what makes sense to you and your team.
Create a library icon based off one in a diagram
Quickly create a new icon based off of something in an existing project. Just right click the icon in the diagram and select Save Icon to Library from the context menu. The custom icon creation wizard will open up with the name, image, ports, quote parts, and properties all filled out for you already.
💡 TIP: Do you know about bundles? They are a supercharged version of this, allowing you to save entire network configurations to your library for future use.
Have some ideas?
We are driven by customer feedback. If you have ideas for what would make D3M more valuable for you and your team, let us know! Just send us a message using the in-app chat that you can access using the button at the bottom right of this screen or the question mark that is in the top navigation bar of D3M.
What’s next...
We are working on building the foundation to some new tools that will unleash new power with D3M inventory and quoting. Stay tuned for the May edition.
