Back in May, we gave you a taste of Tags, a new feature that we have been working on that is setting the stage for many new powerful features. This month we are ready to give a first glimpse into Sheets, an upcoming feature that utilizes tags and that we expect to be a replacement for the Inventory.

Why replace the Inventory?

The Inventory is very restrictive. In it, we generate dynamic spreadsheets where we collect objects in your project that have the same properties. You can then drop those spreadsheets into a document to share with your customers. However, you have very little control over what goes in which spreadsheet or what data ends up showing in it.

The power of Sheets.

In combination with tags, sheets give you full control over what appears in a sheet and what columns are visible. Simply create a new sheet and provide a filter using tags to determine what will show in your sheet. Any object that passes the filter will display in your sheet and as objects are added, removed, or changed in your project, they will be dynamically added or removed from the sheet based on if they pass the filter.

Here is an example of creating a sheet:

A lot of similarities to Inventory and all the functionality that you are used to for editing data is available.
