Price Books can be used in the following ways:

  1. Creating a quote with a different currency

  2. Tiered pricing (i.e. a different set of part numbers or prices for different clients)

  3. Vendor price lists

Note: price books can only be managed by the organization's owner or an admin

Creating a price book

To create a price book, navigate to https://app.d3mnetworks.com/organization/quote
and press the New Price Book button.

If you had the Default Price Book selected you may have noticed that your quote parts have disappeared. Don't worry, you're just viewing the quote parts of a newly created price book -- which is empty.

You can now edit the name of the price book and the currency. You can also make the newly created price book the default price book.

Default price book

The default price book, is the price book used by new projects.

Using a price book

In order to use your newly created price book:

  1. Create a new project or navigate to an existing one

  2. Navigate to the Quote tab

  3. Click on the drop-down in the top right corner of your screen that displays the name of the currently selected price book (the default price book for new projects)

  4. Select a price book

Changing a price book

If you have an existing project that has already been quoted and you want to use it as a starting point for a new project but for a different region, all you need to do is change the price book for the project.

Begin by opening a project, navigate to the quote tab, and change the price book.

Notice before changing to the Canadian Pricing the unit price of the line item is EUR9.99.

After the change has been made you will notice that the currency symbol has updated to $. However, if the price books have overlapping part numbers, you will notice a warning:

You can update the line item to represent the correct price by pressing the warning sign:

Vendor price lists

Some libraries in D3M have icons that already have the official part numbers associated. If you have a vendor's price list you can upload it as a separate price book and make use of auto-quoting or smart-quoting. Please contact support@d3mnetworks.com if you have specific questions regarding vendor price lists.
